Sci-fi roguelike deckbuilding game
Negative Space is a premium strategy game for PC by developer Tier 87 Games. It’s a sci-fi-themed roguelike deck-building adventure, where you go on space missions to tackle different objectives and conditions. The challenge is in forming the right crew and gathering the gear to complete the job.
Captain and crew
Negative Space offers a different experience since there’s no combat in the game. Instead, you pick from five captains and over 100 crew cards to build the best deck, keeping in mind the effects and synergies they can have on one another. Explore uncharted planets and deal with unpredictable events.
Succeed, and you're rewarded with special trinkets, of which there are more than 50, that provide game-changing effects on future missions. There’s also an ascension system that lets you start over at higher difficulty levels while retaining certain perks and bonuses. However, it features moderate learning curve.
Not your usual deckbuilder
If you’ve been a long-time player of roguelike deckbuilding games, Negative Space initially comes off as odd due to its lack of any combat. However, the gameplay experience is anything but dull, and in fact, offers a nice challenge, albeit in a different kind of way.
